What is Coaching?
Let's start with what Coaching is NOT:
Coaching is not....accomplished in a short period of time. Typically Coaching is provided over a period of 3 months with options to continue. It takes time to change behaviour and to reach goals. However, I get that there may not be a fit - and that's okay.
Coaching is not...easy. YOU do the work. As a Coach, I facilitate the session to guide you to realize what you already know. Your Coach will not give you the answers - but your Coach will help you recognize blocks that are preventing you from moving forward.
Coaching is not... counselling or therapy. A Coach does not have the training to work with your emotional baggage from the past or the "woulda, coulda, shoulda". A Coach is future-focused. I deal with the issues at hand today so that you can implement change to make tomorrow better. If you need therapy - I will point you in the right direction.
Coaching is not... limiting or disempowering. That may sound facetious, but your Coach is there to help you see your own magnificent potential. Your Coach is encouraging and supportive of whatever decision you make. Your Coach will also stay with you as you realize your dreams.
So, What is Coaching?
By working in a completely confidential setting, coaching breaks down barriers to success and challenges individuals to reach new levels of achievement, satisfaction and balance in life. Through a process of inquiry, coaching allows you, the Coachee, to realize what you already know. People emerge from my coaching sessions more focused, more motivated and more productive. I will challenge you with action steps so be prepared to work! A series of sessions are required to put into action what you are learning about yourself. I enjoy coaching both businesses and individuals.
At Waterloo Coaching Clinic, I inspire clients to set and achieve goals and overcome obstacles resulting in changes in thought processes and behaviours which can transform your personal and/or professional life. You can achieve what you were meant to have through coaching. But remember, a coach is not a therapist and does not "counsel" or analyze the past. Coaching is based on the principle that you the client have the intrinsic ability to determine and achieve your own goals. As your coach, I will empower you to find your own truth so that you can realize significant change.
I believe that the individual always has the answer to their own challenges, but understands that they may need the help of a coach to find the answer.
Hi, I'm Christine. I would like to be your coach.
This past decade has been rough for me and my family - but I don't think I'm that different from anyone else. We all have our own personal challenges, trauma, saddness, anxiety, setbacks - call it whatever you want. But what sets one individual apart from another is how one deals with the cards that are dealt.
In my case, my family lost our 17 year old son Austin to an accidental, but criminal drug overdose in 2013. It was not something we would have ever expected to have happen. If interested, click here to read more on our story.
A couple of years later, after 22 years with a technology company, I found myself restructured out of my role as V.P. of Human Resources. I rebounded and spent a couple of years in the non-profit sector which was very rewarding personally. However, what I really wanted was to run my own business, set my own hours and do what I truly love all day - and that is coaching!
In 2018, I made the leap and here I am. Why do I coach others? Because I am interested in people. I want to make a difference in other people's lives as that makes me feel good about myself. When you make a change in yourself through coaching, you TOO will feel good about yourself. Confidence, strength, perseverance and laughter is what will get us through this life.
I had some significant challenges, but I took them and asked myself some tough questions about I really want in life. I truly believe my son Austin is helping me all the way. He taught me more through death than I could have ever imagined in life.
I am passionate about harm reduction, overdose awareness and the Good Samaritan Act that was amended to provide immunity to those who call 911 in an overdose situation.
I am also passionate about helping others find their passion within.
I hope to hear more about your story.
